This Saturday marks the official last day of summer. The long walks in the park and time spent on the playground swing will gradually decrease as the mercury drops. An Ottawa couple delivered their second child on the side of a busy road. Paramedics arrived to find the only thing left to do was cut the umbilical cord.

Lola Meakin and her husband Mike were driving to the local hospital when she told Mike that the baby was coming.

An interesting story from Yahoo about how Canada’s birth rate declined for the first time in 10 years. This based on a report by the Canadian Institute for Health Information shows that the approximately 371,000 hospital births in 2010-2011 represented a drop of 1.5 per cent from the previous year — or 5,600 fewer newborns.

I’ve never done a blog before so I’m not really sure how this is supposed to go. This year will always be a year that stands out in my memory. My husband and I got married on March 10th 2012 and right away we tried for a honeymoon baby.
